Dragon Hides

Male dragons that Impress to either gender. Eclipse dragons are headstrong and tough. They don't do well with authourity. Eclipses are the most 'streetwise' dragons there are. They know how to survive very well and like to demonstrate their amazing survival skills to their Riders by taking them on wild adventures to remote parts of Pern. Eclipse dragons are medium sized and can produce strong flames. Their hide changes color with their moods. When an Eclipse is content his hide is a golden-creame color. When an Eclipse becomes unhapy their hides keeps turning darker and darker until it is eventually black. The darker their hide, the stronger their current emotions are. M-M, M-F

Female dragons that Impress females only. Aurora dragons are kind and happy dragons. They love to play and sun themselves, bascially just hanging out and enjoying life. They are quite the flirters and they almost always choose a new mate everytime they rise. Their hides consist of nicly blended splashes of any color, though usually pastels. Aurora dragons are not allowed to clutch. F-F

Male dragons that Impress males only. HellFire dragons are hottheaded and quick tempered. They are loud, bossy, and snappy. They give everyone around them a hard time, including their Riders. HellFire dragons are large dragons with gread endurance but limited speed and manuverability. Their hides consist of many shimmering shades of reds, oranges, and yellows which are always shifting. It has been rumored that when extreamly angered a HellFire's hide bursts into flames. M-M

Male or female dragons who always cross-Impress. Cores are quiet and mysterious dragons. They only speak when they feel that their opinion is truely needed. They are reclusive and speak only to their Riders and even this isn't very common. Female Cores are quite seductive though, with just a bat of their eye they can have any male drooling over them. Male Cores are more silent than the females, if being more silent is even possible. Both genders are incredibly loyal to their Riders. Cores are small dragons with great speed and manuverability. Their hides are black based with silver talons and neckridges. Their noses are tipped dark purple as are their tails. Their wing membranes are dark purple with silver swirled into them. Female Cores can clutch 1-3 eggs if they do not chew firestone. M-F, F-M

Male dragons who only Impress to males. Spars are cold dragons who are reclusive and snap at everyone. They love to train and fight. On their outside they appear to be cold and salty, not capable of love at all but in truth Spars are just misunderstood. They are quite kind, once you can push past their shell of bad emotions. Spars are insecure about themselves and doubt themselves quite often. They rely on the encouragement of their Riders to keep them going. Spars are small and speedy dragons. Their hides are a steely silver. M-M

Female dragons that Impress mainly to females but sometimes to males. Crimson dragons are a mix of the personalities of an Eclipse dragon and a Spar dragon. Crimsons don't like to follow orders; the only living things that they will listen to are their Queen and their Rider. Crimsons love to fight and train for battle. They are flirtatious though, normally targetting fighter dragons like the Eclipse, Spar, and Hellfire. Their movements are sleek and seductive, which they like. They are fairly muscular and meduim sized, giving them speed, manuverability, and stamina. Crimsons have a very close bond with their Rider. Their hides are blood red in color. F-F, F-M

Female dragons that Impress to females only. Loom are kind dragons who are very motherly and give good advice. They are good listoners and can solve anyone's problems. Their small size may make them seem worthless but Looms are actually Queens. They can clutch from 5-25 eggs when they do not chew firestone. Their black based hide has small pinstripes of a specific color shade. They are hatched with a single pinstripe on the maw and as they age they gain more vertical stripes (one new stripe per Turn). The stripes will vary is shade of a specific color. When the pinstripes have reached the tip of the tail they begin to run horizontally. No one is sure what happens when the 'loom' patter is completed, no Loom dragon has lived that long. There are a few different colors that the stripes may come in. Red, blue, green, yellow, and pink are the most common while crystal, silver, and gold are the rarest. *Queen* F-F

Golds are female dragons that Impress females only. Golds are great leaders but sometimes lack patience. They are kind of bossy but very caring. They choose Riders with leadership qualities. They are Queens, egg-layers. Their clutches usually range from 10-50 eggs. They rise about two times a Turn and their clutches are larger if they stay with the same mate more than once. Their hides can range from a buttercup yellow to almost bronze.*Queen* F-F

Bronzes are male dragons that Impress males only. They are the second largest dragons. Like Golds, they try and choose Riders that show leadership qualities and an understanding of what is going on and needs to be done. Bronzes themselves are quite the showoffs when young but do mature into a sensable dragon. They are arrogent and their Riders tend to be so as well. BronzeRiders make good Weyrleaders and Wingleaders. Their hides are a bronze color. M-M

Browns are male dragons that Impress males only. They are the third largest dragon. Browns are level headed dragons and can take alot of pressure. They tend to have the best memory, but even that isn't very good. They are normally chosen as watch dragons. They don't have the endurance to last long in Queens flights, this is the reason that they do not fly Golds very often. Browns are patient and make good Wingleaders and Wingseconds. Their hides can range from a caramel to a rich brown. M-M

Blues are male dragons that Impress males though one or two female Blue Riders have been heard of. Blues are the most loyal and dependable dragons. They are very task-oriented. They and their Riders wont quit until they have completed their mission. Their hides can range from a robbin egg blue to a deep navy. M-M M-F

Greens are female dragons that Impress both males and females, but mostly females now. Greens are flirty and love to have fun. Greens are not allowed to clutch because they rise far too often and their clutches are small usually only contain other Greens. They rise about six times a Turn, normally choosing a different Weyrmate everytime. Greens are quick and agile though they only have enough stamina to last half of a Thread Battle. Their hides can range from a pale green to an emerald color though medium shades are the most common. F-F F-M

Whites are genderless dragons that Impress both males and females. There has only been one White dragon ever. Whites are very, very rare and it is a great honor if one is Impressed by a White. Whites are the smallest of the dragons being only the size of two runners (about). Whites hatch from extreamly small eggs and rarely survive the Hatching. Whites do not rise to mate or take part in flights, they take no pleasure in mating and have no interest in being in a relationship. They do not clutch. Their hides seem white from a distance but it one was to take a closer look one would see that White hides actually contain all of the origional dragon colors. GL-F GL-M

Glacier dragons can be male or female and Impress to people the same gender as themselves. Glacier dragons have a cold personality and do not enjoy taking orders. They are snappy and rude. Glacier dragons have the ability to withstand great coldness in temperature. Their favorite time of the year is winter. Glacier dragons are very large, they are one of the largest dragons, but they are slow and not very manuverable. They are quite strong though. Their hides look like they are made of ice. Females can clutch 5-10 eggs if they do not chew FireStone. M-M, F-F

Inferno dragons can be either males or females and Impress to the same gender as themselves. Inferno are hottempered, bossy, and loud. They are often confused for a HellFire dragon but you can tell the difference because Inferno's have a closer bond with their Riders. Infernos are incredibly loyal and are best friends with their Riders. Their Riders are usually their only friends actually. They have the ability to flame without chewing firestone and can withstand great heat. Infernos are very large but do have some speed. Female can clutch 5-10 eggs if they do not chew firestone. Their hides are colored like fire. M-M, F-F

Tsunami dragons can be male or female and Impress to the same gender as themselves. Tsunami are usually calm dragons though when angered they are quite the problem. They are very powerful and unpredictable and hold grudges for quite some time. Tsunami dragons are capable of holding their breath underwater for a very long time (3 hours max). They are medium sized dragons with a perfect combination of speed, strength, and manuverability. Females can clutch 5-10 eggs if they do not chew firestone. Their hides are normally that of the sea, mixes of blues, greens, with some white swirled in. M-M, F-F

Gaia dragons can be either males or female and Impress to the same gender as themselves. Gaia dragons are very in touch with the planet and all things living. They are the most caring dragons. They are known to take in injured creatures and nurse them back to health (with the help of their Riders of course). It has been said that Gaia dragons have their own personal group of flitts to do their bidding (where the dragons get the flitts is the question). Gaia dragons are peaceful and hate to fight. It is rumored that Gaia dragons have the ability to talk with creatures and even plants. Gaia dragons are peaceful giants, one of the largest dragons, and they have the biggest hearts. Females may clutch 5-10 eggs if they do not chew firestone. Their hides are brown based and have green splotches. M-M, F-F

Hurricane dragons can be male or female and Impress to the same gender as themselves. Hurricane dragons are as unpredictable as the wind. At times they are quite while at others they are loud. One might say that they are bipolor..even skitzophranic (sp?). They commonly blame things that aren't there or inanimate objects for things that they have done (ex: the chair made me do it). Some Hurricanes have actually tried to Impress to inanimate objects such as rocks or a grain of sand. Pathetic really. Hurricanes are known for their ability to fly anywhere at anytime. They always manage to find updrafts wherever they go. Some think that Hurricanes might conjur up a good wind for themself but we'll really never know. Hurricanes are medium sized dragons with great manuverability and speed thanks to their wind-related talents. Female may clutch 5-10 eggs if they don't chew firestone. Their hides are stormy grey with black splotches. M-M, F-F

Dynamic dragons can be either male or female and Impress to the same gender as themselves. Dynamic dragons are very energetic and wild. They are small, fast, and overly friendly. They commonly bespeak anyone the come across. Some people find Dynamics to be annoying while others think they are the funniest dragons of them all. They are rumored to have the ability to withstand electric shocks and possibly conjur up a lightning storm. Dynamic dragons are one of the most valued Threadfighters because of their great speed and endurance. Female can clutch 5-10 eggs if they do not chew firestone. Their hides are a mix of golden yellows and light purples. M-M, F-F
